Drag Racing Show - 10 October
« on: October 12, 2008, 03:48:05 pm »

All in all a good show.  Ken was a great host as usual...he sure has that broadcaster voice.

Of the four guests, I was most interested in Paul Gast.  I know Ken has talked to him in the past, but his interview was kinda short.  I'm hoping to hear more from him next week.

The other guy I enjoyed was Bill Dube with the Killacycle.  That dude is passionate about his shit.  I first saw him a year or so back on YouYube when he decided to do a little ride for the press and smacked the damned thing into a minivan.  I guess he shoulda left it to the guy who gets paid to ride the bike.  Anyway, 500 HP and 400 ft/lbs of torque...I don't care what kind of engine is making them, that's pretty crazy...especially on a motorcycle.  It is kinda wild watching him do the burn out and stage and all you can hear is whine of the electric motor.

That Rich guy from Pinks sure is crazy about what he does.  Being here in Europe, I've never seen it so I don't have a frame of reference for his work.  I'm not sure how well drag racing on a wheelie for an 1/8th mile will sell...

Drag Racing 2.0 was a good show too.  Got to hear a bit more from Paul Gast.

Next week Sugar Bear is going to be on for a half hour.  I can't wait for that one.  He's been around since just about the beginning of choppers and his front ends are KILLER.  This is one that I won't miss.

Just back from Virginia, so I had to wait to listen to this week's show.  Sugar Bear was awesome.  I could have listened to him for hours.  He says he's in the process of writing a book.  Anybody who is interested in the history of choppers and chopper building should not miss this one.  I really like how he calls "bobbers" by their real name...short choppers.

Cool dude.
