Island Dragway 3-15-09
« on: March 20, 2009, 03:06:58 pm »

This is Howie and he is on an 08 Hayabusa that has had a decent amount of motor work done to it. Late last year he dropped a valve in the motor goofing around with Nitrous on his own, thus the current motor work. This is the bike that I extended and widened last year. It was a releif to see that my work has held up to the punishment of dragracing, I guess I did something right.  ;D Howie goes an honest 350 punds so he is combating his weight handicap running the smaller guys plus he is still learning to race. I think once he gets use to the bike he'll be able to run pretyy dam hard on that thing.

Ritchie on an 00 Yamaha R6. This is a stock motored bike with a 10" over arm on a 210mm tire. This is the bike that I have collaborated on and offered my assistance while Ritchie spins the actual wrenches.

Howie on a worked 08 1300 Suzuki Hayabusa

Ritchie "tree-d" him. Ritchie is probably the better rider as of now.

The little R6 has a few lengths at the 330' mark.

At the 1/8th they are even.

After that the Busa used its big CC's and road around the R6.

11.76 to 10.55 (they both ran faster later in the day).

Ritchie rolling through the pits. A few pictures for his collection.

A Porsche with a Big Block in it. It is a bracket car that runs in the 10's.

This car is very close to mine. I have a bit more motor than he does buy I do beleive his car is a little lighter than mine. They should be very close. He ran 9.30's-940's all day on motor. My car is set up for Nitrous and generous amounts of it so I should be on target with a low to mid 8 car. ;D

That is an 8.8" in there and it seems like it is still holding up.

A relatively simple ladder bar setup. It is sold by a company called Wild rides that isn't all that far from me. I think I'm going to look into a set for my car. ;)

Up on the bars with very little front end lift. Nice! I'm not sure here but I thought the objective was to get weight transfer with as little lift as possible. I', sure there is a fine line there between planting the tires and blowing them off.

This Chevelle says 8.86 on the window however I don't recall seeing it run that, I may have missed it.

This car was god awful loud for a street car.

The Vette had nothing for the GT.

I don't know if either of these cars ran well at all. On paper the Vette has it.

The little yellow car ran like a raped ape. The BMW was sporting Nitrous but had a newby behind the wheel. He clicked off something like 11 runs total.

This car was testing and tuning. I think once they get it sorted out it will scream.

This little truck has a diesel in it. I'm guessing a Cummins based on the single stack but I could be wrong.

This young guy was running for his NHRA license (which I have to do also). The car ran an 8.06 on what looked like a "Soft" pass to me.

A very clean car, almost to nice to drag race, almost!

8.86 with no bars? Brave or compitent driver there.

This car has a big block 502 in it. It has to be a bracket car as it wasn't all that fast in my opinion.

The Camaro was launching toward the wall most of the day. Once they get that car planted and going straight it will be F'ing fast.
