a tattooed seat?
« on: February 14, 2012, 04:54:33 pm »

i was in my buddies tattoo shop the other day ( bs tattoo in berkeley springs wv)and i saw something on the shelf that caught my eye.

a tattooed pigs foot.

he had it in a jar of some clear liquid. formaldehyde maybe. he say's he bought it in new york some place.

so i asked him if he thought he could tattoo a design in a seat, but since he works on human leather and has limited experience with animal hyde, he asked what would be the best hyde for that type of application and what would it be sealed with?

can you leather workers give me some ideas?

Ya can't remember the dude, but he has a pretty cool eBay site, nice pinup style tattoo seats. Not too expensive either

i wonder how you seal the leather on one of those...  Seems like it would be a lot of work to keep the ink 'in' the holes that the needles punch.
... and what to do with the excess ink, like when you get a tattoo, the ink that has to get wiped off, that should stain the leather, right?
