so...friday out with my father in law and a good friend...we are out riding the back roads here in sapulpa,ok
choppers running good, lots and lots of power and throttle response was unusually crisp...so we get to about a mile from the house and hit the highway on the way back to the house....i am out in front and decide to run it out....first gear...no problem, second gear...no problem, third gear...no problem.....fourth gear....pop pop sputter....dead......coasting to side of road...

tried to crank...sounds like its fouled plugs...popping and sputtering

get home pull the plugs...beautiful color..no white or dark black just not what i expected...

next step pull the nose cone....OH SHIT LOOK AT THIS

SHOULD I BE LOOKING DEEPER OR IS THIS A SIMPLE SPRING FAILURE ON THE WEIGHTS?

my opinion is the spring broke causing the weight to flop around which bound the center stud/bolt causing it to snap, which caused the engine to die, which caused me to push the damn heavy bitch a mile the rest of the way home....lol

kinda hoping i can use the cone.....if not it eats into my new cam fund....old lady is already mad that i bought a new bdl primary to replace my ultima

well......i went and did it anyway....new single fire ultima ignition, the dyna 2000 clone, wrapped my ratty old drag pipes with black fiberglass, new inner and outer primary with bdl guts.....new chrome sissy bar (for her)......new led tail for the sissy bar....new jackshaft set up and new output shaft for starter clutch.....new cloth covered wiring.....and a whole new charging system (the old one had the magnets floating around)....went with the magnets encased style rotor.....guess the bike will be done soon......need a few bolts and nuts and dohickies.....but mostly finished....pictuers soon to follow......wife has me so busy when i am done i wont get to ride until next winter....lol
